I had a dream last week in which I was using a hacksaw to cut through an extremely thick safe door because I was trying to get to a tin of WD40 inside the safe. Was this some mysterious picture about really seeking to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit or was it linked to the cheese and onion sandwich I might have had the previous evening?
Actually a couple of friends have mentioned to me recently particular dreams they have had and we clearly must not rule out the possibility that God may be speaking to us. A familiar verse is, of course, Acts 2v17: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” We may recall, as well, Joseph (OT) having significant dreams and later being used to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams, Daniel also being used to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and God speaking to Joseph (NT) in several dreams.
An especially wonderful aspect of God speaking through dreams is the many recent accounts of Muslims, in particular, having visions of Jesus and coming to true faith in Him. God is not bound by any limitation man may seek to place on Him and He is able to work and speak in ways which we might think are impossible. So don’t rule out God seeking to speak to you (but do be wise and discerning!) and do pray that He will continue to reveal Himself to many who are blind to Him, especially as a result of Islam.
Peace and Grace
