This Sunday at 10:30am: Who cares – about my loneliness?
Seeking to know Jesus and to make Him known to others

Membership matters

We are trying a new format for church members meetings with a meeting this afternoon at 5pm, followed by a fellowship tea at 6pm to which everyone is invited. The one hour time allowance may, perhaps, focus everyone’s minds!
There are a number of encouraging matters for members to consider today including Sunday morning attendances and our current financial position. At the same time many within the fellowship continue to suffer significant health problems including Sue, Norman, Leo and Sally.
But the above title is deliberately ambiguous – membership of a local church does matter. The local church is designed by God to be an expression of Christ’s body – a united, committed community of God’s people who seek to gather regularly together to worship God, to spread the Gospel, to support and encourage each other and to grow together in grace and fruitfulness. The Bible makes no provision for lone ranger Christianity!
If you are a member of CCBC you matter to the entire church, for we “are the body of Christ, and each one of [us] is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12v27). Furthermore “in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12v5). I hope, if you are able, you will come to this afternoon’s meeting.
If you are not yet a member please do prayerfully consider this matter and come and have a chat with me!
Peace and Grace
