Seeking to know Jesus and to make Him known to others

Luke Barrs

Luke Barrs joined the team in July 2019 having served on leadership teams previously. Luke has a passion for evangelism and apologetics. As he grew up an atheist, Luke aims to explain the Christian faith in plain language and is passionate about engaging the challenging questions of the world from the Christian perspective.

Luke has studied for both a bachelor and a masters degree at Moorlands College and is eager to see Christians grow in their faith. A verse that has special significance to Luke is Isaiah 50:4:

“The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue,   to know the word that sustains the weary.

He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.”

Luke looks to encourage both young and mature Christians to pursue a life of learning with the Lord, seeking His instruction personally, and also for our mission to the community.

Luke and Fiona have been married since 2010, and have two boys, Noah and Joel. Fiona is involved in worship, small group leading, and teaching children within the Church.
